Dr. Jennifer Esswein
Jennifer Esswein is a Senior Leader of Applied Research and Systems Improvement at Education Northwest. Her work with state education agencies focuses on federal and state-level policy, including working with school identification methodologies and school improvement planning.
Prior to joining Education Northwest, she led work on district and school status designations at the Tennessee Department of Education. Through this work, she transformed the state’s accountability system with processes and documentation that increased efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
Esswein earned her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in quantitative research, evaluation and measurement in education. She also served a data fellow in the Strategic Data Project at Harvard University.
